The Bee Strong Foundation was founded in honor of Brooklyn Lomas, the daughter of Melissa Lomas-Deafenbaugh and Shaun Deafenbaugh. She is also the big sister to Jaxon Lomas Deafenbaugh.

Brooklyn is an 8-year-old girl who was brought into this world to change it one person at a time. She's brilliant in so many ways, but with her incredible mind came anxiety issues at a very early age. She was diagnosed with anxiety at the age of 5 and has been in active therapy ever since. She was then diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 6. She has fought through any obstacle thrown at her with such passion. It's not always easy or graceful, but we always keep fighting. By the age of 7 she was also suffering from OCD, sensory issues and Tourette's. Brooklyn was recently diagnosed with ADHD which was a complete shock, but after A LOT of research we’re not afraid of it. It has helped us understand a lot about Brooklyn and her day-to-day actions. She has some amazing days while some others are just purely painful. But, we always keep fighting.

Without the help of medicine, doctors, therapists, technology, education and an incredible support system, we'd be in dire straits.

The Bee Strong Foundation was formed so we can help families who have children that suffer from mental illness(es) and neurological disorders. We want to be able to provide support, funds, transportation, equipment, etc. to those families who don't have the means to help their child(ren).

We are also here to educate the world about children who suffer from mental illness. We are working diligently to end the stigma. Mental illness is such a prevalent issue and we don't want our children to suffer anymore.
